Nick Paul White is a Los Angeles-based writer and director whose work explores the boundaries between reality and performance. Born in Los Angeles, he began his career as a production assistant in film and television, but after years within the studio system, he sought a more personal and instinctive approach to storytelling. Relocating to Austin, he began working as a videographer and editor on a range of non-fiction projects, an experience that reoriented his filmmaking toward authenticity, intimacy, and lived experience.
Working with a tight-knit group of collaborators (and even tighter budgets), Nick moves fluidly between narrative and documentary forms, chasing hidden truths and inspired accidents. His short film The Eternal Wife (2019), based on his mother's journey to rediscover love after loss, screened at multiple festivals including Lone Star, San Antonio, and Austin Spotlight, where it won Best Actress, and the Love & Hope International Film Festival in Barcelona.
